So tomorrow i will again go and take it back (1 hour round trip) what is the point in wasting my time stocking a tool that two of them will not even out last one belt. well at least the new model fails in a new way to the old one (gear box) new one started arcing out across the armature. do you not test these tools for a bit before you stock them all over the country.

I would be very grateful this Christmas for the return of the £515 you have stolen from my Bank account 2 days before Christmas, (statement reference “B&Q call centre”) I have had several conversations with your non existent customer service team over the mis delivery of the Kitchen we purchased from you, which was paid for in full only to be told that you cannot supply parts of if as they are discontinued! Had i known your customer service came at such a charge i would have just popped in to the store and charged you for my time.
I would appreciate a swift response as i am terribly unorganized and have several little children to buy gifts for who unlike your miserable selves still believe in the magic of Christmas.
If you could also tell me how you obtained my payment details to take such a large amount? It would be useful to know just incase there is a severe flaw in my own personal security and that this is not just a small hiccup in the system? (please detect sarcasm)
Please look into this and let me know how this will be refunded so i can pay for Christmas this year, as you have left me with £15, and well time is running out.

Go to the shop today and although Joe was very understanding, Jeanetta on the other hand was very stand offish, instead of apologising and being empathetic to the fact we have paid a decorator to come out and wallpaper at a cost of £70 only for them to have to do it again because the paper we had didn't match. She as a gesture of good will have us a free roll! I am absolutely appalled at the service and now I have to get the decorator out again tomorrow to re wallpaper, it's just as well he was more empathetic than Jeanetta. Customer service training is most definitely needed, her back was up straight away and she didn't give us a chance to explain the problem properly before I pig down our throats!!! My parents chose to buy one of your kitchens after their joiner recommended you. Their kitchen was delivered to their home in Dunfermline last week, but the worktops were sent to the wrong address in Glenrothes on Friday.
Cut to phone calls to you, my mother in panic about her family coming to her house for Christmas dinner and she has NO working cooker or sink as she has NO WORKTOPS! The joiner was supposed to finish up this job by Friday for his Christmas holidays! She was told the worktops would be with them on Saturday, she begged her joiner to please come finish the kitchen and he agreed....
Saturday, my mother gets a phone call to say the worktops are now in Aberdeen???

After purchasing it we went to the store and found out that the item was discontinued and said that we had to phone this number for a refund. We phoned that number and they said it was a wrong number and gave us another number and said we would have to go to store and ask for a refund. Eventually we spoke to a lady at customer service and she apologised for the bad service we received and said she will be able to sort out our refund and two weeks later we still have not received anything. Therefore, we phoned back the customer service today and the the lady who took my call was extremely rude to me and said we cannot get a refund. This is an awful service who have employed some extremely rude staff and quiet honestly did not care about my product. I have never held a complaint in my life about any service but this is really really bad a
nd people have to know.

"17.12.2014 19:14:24" I would not normally chose a public forum to vent my dissatisfaction, however the recent level of service shown by B&Q merits further comment On Saturday 13th December I ordered three Oak Veneer Internal doors and a tin of Colron Beeswax Antique Pine. I chose a delivery date; Tuesday 16th of December as my partner organised to take the day off work in order to be here for the delivery. I then visited my local B&Q store at Hermiston Gate in Edinburgh on Sunday 14th & decided to purchase ten insulated plasterboard sheets, along with an external oak veneer door.
The gentlemen in store assured me that all the items would arrive together and asked me a number of questions in relation to access to my property. I further explained that my property was a flat situated on the second floor and asked if it would be possible for the delivery men to take the delivery items up to the property as my partner would not be able to lift them due to their weight. The gentlemen in store advised me that it would not be a problem. On Tuesday the first delivery showed up with three internal doors, however the delivery driver was very rude to my partner and dropped the doors outside the block of flats. These doors were exposed to the elements and the tin of Colron Beeswax was missing. I still havn't received this item. Further to this, the delivery driver even went on to say that my partner was not entitled to make a complaint.
The second delivery came shortly after, and to their credit, the delivery men from store carried the plasterboard sheets up and the external door.
The level of customer service received from the first delivery driver was appalling, the instore delivery men even said to my partner that the company who deals with online deliveries are lazy. The fact remains I purchased several items from B&Q andthe standard of customer service given overall was below what would be considered satisfactory.
After I finished at my place of work on Tuesday evening, I visited my local B&Q store and was told that the best forum to log my complaint was online.
I am absolutely appalled at the level of customer service shown by B&Q. My partner could not lift these doors herself and they were left to the elements for several hours until I arrived home. I have still not received my tin of Colron Beeswax and the online service makes no mention of these items being delivered seperately.
I have purchased several items from B&Q recently as I am currently in the process of renovating my property. I have spent thousands of pounds and had the intention of purchasing my flooring and skirting board from B&Q.
I will be organising the return of both deliveries should this not be satisfactorily dealt with. The manner in which my partner was spoken to was totally unacceptable and if this is not dealt with I will be taking this complaint further.
I would advise all potential customers of B&Q to refrain from using their online service as it is wholly inadeqaute compared to their local stores. I look forward to hearing your response. A very disgruntled B&Q customer!

This year however after only a week we have a tree that is dropping needles constantly and we can't go near, nevermind touch despite being in water. We have telephoned the store and the customer service line only to be told we must return it to the store with the receipt if we want a replacement as it's "company policy" that they have a returned product for every replacement item! Unfortunately we are not willing to put the substandard tree into our new car to leave mess there as well as all over our living room floor and expect a very bare tree come Christmas. Very dissapointed in B&Q. Needless to say we'll be shopping elsewhere next year unless you can find a solution...

"15.12.2014 18:21:17" Where do I start...after spending 3hrs in Hermiston Gate planning my kitchen, two of the four appliances were out of stock. B&Q agreed to sell me the two appliances which were on display to finish my kitchen. Despite promising to call me when this happened, no call came. When I called them to enquire two weeks later they advised that the appliances were now not being removed from the display...a phone call would have been nice!!! I now have a kitchen due to be delivered in 3 weeks that has a gaping hole where the appliances needed to be. When asked if they could escalate to HQ, I was told that there was nothing they could do...so B&Q I will be in to see you next week to cancel my complete order...I now have to start all over again, hopefully with a company that has a more customer focused approach. Merry Xmas.

When I opened the plastic the majority of the plant had died and fell off, leaving these few measley twigs in soil. Completely disgusted that I've wasted £5 on this. The packaging states that this plant has been grown especially for B&Q and I would expect that to mean this is a high quality product. So either these plants aren't being looked after as per the instructions on your packaging or they're not of a standard you would expect from B&Q.

Wanted more lights so added another box this year, but the boxes had been changed and no number coding, but I found 400 LED lights in soft glow, assuming these would be the same. Just put the lights up in my tree and they are nothing alike! This year's soft glow is yellow, and much, much less bright than last year's. Really noticeable. Having spent £80 last year and another £40 this year, I'm not best pleased that to have matching lights I'd need to cough up another £80this year? Why is a range changed so quickly?

1. I asked the fitter to increase the temperature of the water from the shower. 2 weeks later, I'm still waiting to hear from the fitter despite assurances he would call me the next day.
2. My fridge freezer doesn't fit into the gap created despite the same fitter measuring up prior to starting the work.
3. I bought 2 tone tiles for my kitchen which were not fitted. This is not as designed.
I'm at the stage where I wish I had gone elsewhere for this work.

Gave me 2 receipts (one for the transaction and one I assumed was the new credit note) popped them in my purse and thought nothing of it until today when I pop in to buy a new door bell, apparently they didn't give me the credit note but only a receipt ... According to the 2 ladies it is impossible for them not to give me the credit note as that prints first ... Well I assure you I wasn't given it, I don't like being called a liar (as in sure the 2 ladies I spoke to didn't either) I can only assume that whoever issued the credit note kept it or it simply ended up in their bin with the amount of other receipts and paperwork.
I honestly found them totally unhelpful, I asked if they could check if the credit note had been redeemed apparently they can't, but I can if I want to phone their head office etc etc ... Couldn't she have offered to do that? I'm totally disgusted with you "Customer Service" I would have sacked if I were as unhelpful as that!
Anyway whoever spent my £10... Merry Christmas!

"08.12.2014 10:16:52" Is very disappointed with BnQ and their service. I ordered a fireplace surround with you at the beginning of November on the website it said delivery in 7 working days. I thought oh brilliant I will be able to finish decorating my living room in plenty of time for Christmas. I then had a message I needed to book the delivery date. The first one available was the 24th November. Longer than 7 working days since the time I purchased but that was fine I was just happy it would be here in time for Christmas. Then the Friday before the Monday when it was meant to be delivered in the afternoon I have a call to say it won't be delivered as they are out of stock of the item as it didn't come in on the delivery. As you can imagine I was upset but I was reassured my new delivery date would be the 2nd of Dec. So I wasn't impressed but I thought as long as its here then I could still get it fitted and finish my living room in time for my child's first christmas. I was given a delivery time of 15:45 - 17:45 they turned up at 8pm. First three pieces came in then the last piece we were told was broken and to look at it on the lorry when going to look at it found it wasn't even secured in the Lorry. Now am I mistaken in thinking Marble is delicate and needs to be secured on what I am told was two days on that lorry? So it was taken back, the next morning I was told they are out of Stock again and to wait until Monday the 8th to find out when it can be delivered. After having a conversation this morning and being told now I have been put back in a queue of 126 people for this fireplace as the website allowed people to continue buying something they didn't have stock of. No grantee when they would be in stock or if I would have it in time for Christmas. So after nearly 4 weeks I am no closer to having the fireplace I have paid for. No closer to having a date of when I will be receiving the fireplace. No closer to finishing my living room and decorating it for my Childs 1st Christmas. I am extremely upset, angry and disappointed by this service. After being rather upset on the phone I was offered changing it to another fire place at no extra charge IF it was only £50 more then they would check it was in stock so I could receive within a week. However, having looked everything now says a lead time of 3 weeks on the website and nothing is £50 more in price I would be expected to pay more money for a different fire place. As I need a gas surround I would be jumping from £400 to at least £600 +. So what am I to do. All I would like is for BnQ to honour the original contract when I brought my fireplace at the beginning of November and fix the issue that has now occurred due to your suppliers. Rather than saying I am sorry Miss Jones theres nothing we can do. We can't make it a priority or tell me when it will be back in stock and I can receive the item I have paid for and ordered. I just want my fireplace please without all this hassle and stress.

All paid for which I think should only be a deposit until delivery. After not hearing about my delivery I had to go into find out what was happening. At this point everything was on hold waiting for this delivery. On the day of the delivery the bath was badly marked and damaged! Also the wrong panel arrived. After calling and going into the store again we got told it would be at least a week!.....Total Joke! Cut long story short after all this time I am still waiting on my 3rd bath panel to come. Also we bought a sink and toilet to get home to find the toilet seat parts missing....which I am now waiting on a replacement for! So I will be letting everyone know about the hassle I am having and will very reluctant to use you again! I would like to think my bathroom maybe finished in time for Christmas!

The 'Nile' screen was supplied with dangerously short screws and the top and bottom hinge is a poor design. Basically the screws would not go far enough into the wall, if at all after tiling. I have never known such poor quality and customer service,we are having a new carpet fitted early next week so looking for an alternative supplier is now not an option, a 4th door is being delivered for Monday but WE have to arrange to drop off the door we have now and get the 'hopefully' perfect door back to ours , absolutely appalling , B & Q, looking forward to a response from B and Q here but not holding my breath ..

Arrived on the 8 of November.repeat trips to my local store to re order wrong parts .when right parts found and ordered after spending hours not minutes HOURS,AT THE LOCAL STORE,by the way staff at dearne valley Brampton are excellent but untrained,I hit the same problem.the distribution centre have now put my kitchen installation back 4 weeks,by repeatably sending wrong items in some cases twice in a day.each time when parts ordered and offered for delivery it's always 3 to 5 days.shame on you,I live in Barnsley ,I know for a fact there is a distribution centre besides the A1 not 6 miles from my house.in 1969 the Americans put a man on the moon.in 2014B&Q will not put two items together to be delivered at the same address on the same day.i spent 61 minutes today on the telephone tracking down plastic brackets for my drawer fronts which were missing from a drawer pack. Your fault not mine,the really helpful lady in the call centre,informed me,that even though I had called and ordered the brackets on Monday they had not been dispatched. I've just had a kitchen fitted and some of the issues could be put down to misunderstandings others are just shoddy service.
First I had the designer round and we planned out a complete room refurb, plastering, lights, units, appliances, blinds, colours, tiles.
Then wait 3 month before work begins, 1st day electrician informs me I need a new consumer unit, not picked up on the survey.
Then fitters tell me decorating isn't part of the service, obviously misunderstanding here because I sat and chose colours, even emphasised I wanted a complete finished room.
Then turns out no lights, sockets, switches had been supplied. I visit the store and get said parts only for the electrician to tell me lighting circuit is not to latest standard he can't fit the lights.
after 2 weeks kitchen is fitted, I've still not been refunded for the non fitting of lights, I have a length of facia board sitting on my stairs waiting be collected its been there 2 weeks now.
I have a drive full of rubbish waiting collection despite phoning the installers twice.Thats been there nearly 2 weeks after job completed
And I've just found cardboard packing left inside the cooker hood blocking the flow of air.

We placed our Monday evening (a replacement shower as ours had broken) to be collected from store by myself. This turned out to not be available at the store for 'click and collect from 12pm tomorrow' (Tuesday lunchtime) as per the confirmation email we received after ordering.
I was informed that when I went to collect from Peterborough store that although the confirmation emails say 12pm tomorrow, it is actually available the following day...
So, aside from my wasted trip to store and the inconvenience, the two customer advisers were blunt in telling me the emails were wrong in stating 'tomorrow' there wasn't an apology and almost insinuated that I should know there is a delay?!
Perhaps these confirmation emails need to be reassessed so the wrong information isn't given? I can't be the only person who has experienced this?

Today was the third day, and we decided to wait in for the delivery. When nothing had arrived by mid-afternoon, we decided it might be prudent to call B&Q to check everything was ok. We were delighted to discover (eventually, after using your appalling automated phone system) that, despite us waiting in all day, the driver was now too far away to deliver today, but that he had tried to deliver earlier in the day. Apparently his 'attempt to deliver' involves driving up to the gates to our apartment block, taking a photo of these gates and then driving away. At no point did he use the intercom to call the flat to tell us he was outside (this is clearly available and used by every other delivery firm), or try and call or make any other attempt to contact anyone who was in the flat (which, to reiterate, we were and had been waiting all day). So thank you for messing up a very simple delivery, that we had taken the trouble to make easy for you by waiting in, and also breaking your agreement to deliver within three days. I thought this may be some useful for you, and anyone else who reads this. I suggest you check whether the delivery company you use employs drivers which are hard of sight or thinking, in which case it may be better to get them off the road.

I then contacted customer services to say what happened. After many emails the customer services said store was in wrong it should have been exchanged as within 12 month warranty. They rang store to say we would be back down to get refund.
On Sunday we took emails and receipt to store. Store once again point blank refused to refund! They said they didn't care what customer services said.
I of course emailed customer services on Sunday. And again Monday, and again today. No reply!!
I'm disgusted with b & q. Your customer service is appalling. Your managers are worse! And your products are dangerous and not replaced when brake within a few months!

A couple of weeks ago my 2 year old son and I were playing in the living room when the fan light came on by itself. To my horror shortly after coming on it launched 2 of the blades at us! What a blooming fright I got as once the blades had dislodged, obviously the whole light was off balance and was swinging about!
All I can say is thank goodness it didn't hit my wee boy I dread to think what may have happened! The walls however, weren't so lucky!
I visited your Inverness Branch yesterday and I must say the two young lads that dealt with me were more than helpful and offered me a replacement. I chose a new light (not a fan) and am thankful for that but not only have I incurred extra electrician charges I now have to redecorate as the paper on the 2 walls that were hit are damaged.
Thankful my wee boy wasn't hurt and thankful for the great customer service from your two staff members.

"01.12.2014 20:12:12" Hi I recently purchased a response alarm system from your store in Newtownabbey. I booked an alarm engineer who came to install this for me yesterday. The engineer positioned all pieces (control panel, door alarm and pir's etc). When he was adding to the battery to start pairing the sensors he noticed the 3 6V batteries expired on 03/2011 and it stated these should not be charged after 10/2011. The 3 9V batteries expired in 06/2009. As all other pieces were installed I took the batteries back to the store to get them updated however, when the guy opened all the alarm boxes ALL batteries were out of date with the most up to date ones expiring January 2014. I have now been left with a partially fitted alarm and out of date batteries as your store could not replace these. I have been advised by your store to contact response for replacement batteries but response informed me I will have to pay for these. I am highly annoyed firstly, as i will have holes in my walls if I removed the items. Secondly, I have had to pay for an engineer to come out and fit a useless system and thirdly I will be out of pocket replacing batteries in a system I bought just over a week ago!!! Please can you help me resolve this matter??

I ordered some sliding wardrobe doors on 3/11/14 and am still waiting for delivery.I rang on 22/11/14 to chase the order up and was promised someone would ring me back. No one did! Rang again on 27/11/14 and after several attempts to get through I was informed that my order was out for delivery on 18/11/14 from Home Decor, the manufacturer, even though no one had ever contacted me! Someone was supposed to get back to me again, and yet again no one did.
I rang again today to find out what was happening and was told the order was out for delivery today even though yet again I'd had no contact from B&Q! I received a call later to say this was incorrect and that the doors were not scheduled for delivery today and that Home Decor would contact me.
I managed to get the number for Home Decor from them begrudgingly, and decided it was probably best that I rang Home Decor direct. I was astounded to find that they had been chasing B&Q for measurements and because they were not forthcoming, they CANCELLED my order. B&Q knew this and were still trying to fob me off!! Apparently the order has been re-placed but still without measurements.
I am now waiting waiting for a call yet again from someone in management to try and sort this out. I won't hold my breath!!

If you know you're in the right go to head office, they are so helpful and understand that sometimes we arn't treated to the best of the companies likings.

A catalogue of problems, disgraceful customer service and the biggest debacle I've ever encountered; my fire surround was delivered. WITHOUT THE HARTH!!!!!!!! B&Q are an absolute joke. I've been promised compensation and that hasn't arrived. The manager of Erdington store now won't answer my calls and texts, the people at head office haven't bothered replying to my letter and the lady in the executive office has always left for the day when I need to talk to her. Meanwhile my 5 year old and I continue to live in my bedroom because we can't use our lounge due to lack of heating. I've spent nearly a thousand pounds and I'm totally appalled at the lack of organisation. Never ever ever use their delivery services and don't bother complaining either. The only thing to come out of it that's been good is the constant source of entertainment I am for all my colleagues, friends and family who can't wait to hear the latest installment because they're happy it's not happening to them and it's so ridiculous you'd have thought I'd made it up.

I had a great chat with one of them, he explained the tills were opened depending on how many staff were available, and we're always off after 5. "28.11.2014 18:03:40" I have a problem.I phoned B & Q Wednesbury to place an order for 9 boxes of Organik Walnut effect floor tiles, quoting the catalogue number for this item.I know this to be the case as I had the product called up on my screen, and didn't read it from the long list.The tiles were placed behind the checkout for my fitter to collect and start the job today.I wasn't present while my fitter was laying these, but when I came home I went to check on progress it became apparent that these were the wrong tiles.Looking at the boxes, they were described as Honey, and had a different code.I phoned the Wednesbury depot immediately, speaking to one store assistant who then passed me on to Steve Hanley, Garden Centre Manager/Duty Manager.I explained my problem to Steve, who, after hearing my description of events, decided that, as far as he was concerned, I hadn't presented him with any "evidence" to really back up my complaint, and that somehow it was my responsibility to issue full descriptions and codes to fitter, or be present to inspect them myself.After much heated debate, Steve said that he would investigate and call me back within 10-15 minutes. At least 30 minutes passed without receiving the promised call back, so I had to phone him.Steve then informed me that the employee in question had a piece of paper in his pocket with the code number of the tiles that were, in my opinion, mistakenly picked.Neither my name or my fitters name were on it, even though I had given both names to him, and this, apparently, is concrete proof that I had given the wrong code.This number could have been taken from the shelf, as the employee in question had to leave the phone on a couple of occasions to physically check stock.Now, in our brand new bathroom, we have tiles we don't want, and the cost of the ply board and adhesive used to stick them with comes to approximately £100.I was offered a discount of 50% for replacement tiles, which were approx £130 with standard discount for 6+, not trade purchase which was inferred by Steve Hanley.This was considered to be, in Steve's own words, more than fair.All the way through this, I found the whole process incredibly unprofessional, the Manager's attitude very defensive, argumentative, lacking common sense, and completely ignorant of what it takes to deliver quality customer service.At differing stages of our debate, I was at times infuriated, gobsmacked, livid and ultimately deflated by the whole experience.I ended the conversation by informing Steve that I would never use B & Q again, ever.We recently moved into our new home, and still have lots of work to do, including installing a complete new kitchen, and if this is the way that this ends, I will stand by my promise to Steve.I'm a man of my word.

"26.11.2014 21:51:19" B&Q, today I received what I would call the worst 'customer service'. Me and my partner recently purchased some mixed gloss from the Bletchley store in Milton Keynes. We opened the pot of paint today to find it was water based gloss when we asked specifically for oil based and must of said this 2-3 times to the person who served us. I understand that your paint is non refundable or exchangeable, but we received the wrong paint & of course we weren't going to open up the tin there and then to check.
Now, I called up the store talked to a woman about this who instantly stated 'it's non refundable and all of our staff are trained' , as I have said I understand this, but I also understand my partner is a painter and decorator by trade, we would not make this mistake. It was not stated to us it was a water based gloss, as if it was my partner would of happily refused and we would have gone to Brewers.
I then received another call today from the same woman after she had investigated this and had talked to the person who served us who also remembered us. She went on to say that 'all of our members of staff are fully trained and the man who served you has been working here for many years and is fully trained and aware of our paints' ... Now to me that means she is saying I'm lying. She continued to say 'paint is non refundable or exchangeable'. I understand this but it was a mistake of a member of B&Q staff, and I am now £30 down, yes we don't have much money to spend in B&Q but that shop we spent over £100...
She continued to say there is nothing she could do, and that's when I put the phone down.
I cannot express how disappointed I am that the customer is always right has disappeared somehow. For all I know your member of staff could just have been covering his own back.
I shall Defiantly not be using B&Q again.

We parked our vehicle in the trade parking as we have an account and after vacating the store discovered paint halfway up the side of our vehicle where someone had dropped a black bag with paint in it next to our van.
Understanding we had parked at our own risk but went back into the store to ask to view CCTV to try and get information to forward to the police as criminal damage to our vehicle.
A guy said he would have a look at the footage and came back saying nothing was conclusive,
We then asked for a manager and he also told us we were not allowed to view any footage I had taken pictures on my phone showed the manager he agreed he would not be happy but would again not let us view any footage, we explained we were trying to gain access to possible vehicle registration numbers to whoever had caused this damage and he again would not let us view the film and this firm run a loyalty scheme !!
What a joke !
All we got was a pack of wipes to clean the paint off !!! Shocking

However, they were not given the full discount. Some full price paints and under coats were bought and these were discounted. The six tins of Crown colour were not. I can only assume this is because they were in a two for £22 offer.
My mum has looked through all their diamond card information and she can't find anything that says special offers are excluded. She believed that the discount was given to everything.
I think it is really bad that it isn't made clear anywhere and this has happened to the over 60's.

Go to the store for said exchange, and no, the auditors won't like it and when they say "exchange" on the receipt, what they mean is "credit note". I reserved a display bath that was going to be discontinued.was told I couldn't pay for the bath as it had not been priced up and I also had to wait until it had been removed from the wall in one piece. Today we have gone from being happy customers (despite several glitches & repairs having to be rectified, already) to customers who would not recommend your bathroom fitting service to anyone!
We had two new bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom fitted by your fitter in April.
We chose B&Q because you guarantee the work for 10 years and we thought that by using your service we would have a hassle free project!
Twice your fitter failed to fit the bath waste pipe correctly and we had water pouring through our lounge ceiling!
The second time - your fitter scraped the soggy plaster off the lounge ceiling - and filled the 60 cm2 area FLAT despite the ceiling being WAVY ARTEX!
The only two solutions your team would offer today - to match the badly filled area of ceiling were
A) we could get 2 independent quotes to get the artex matched (who do they think would be prepared to quote on a small job like this?) and they would CONSIDER reimbursement
B) We could get the whole lounge ceiling skimmed and redecorated and they will consider CONTRIBUTING to the cost!
The reason being - which I was told repeatedly - is because B&Q don't have artex experts!!
How can you think it acceptable to offer such unreasonable solutions to a problem caused by the neglect of your fitter?

I would just like to say how unhappy i was when i visited the coatbridge branch yesterday, prior to visiting the branch i looked online to check opening times and it showed yesterday the store was opened till 9pm. I went along at approx 7:45 to choose some wooden flooring , as i was looking i heard an annoucement stating the store would be closing in 5 minutes at that point i was waiting on someone commng to advies me on size and how many packs i would need , the sales assistant arrived and had just told us how many packs were required when someone walked up to us and said you will have to leave now, i explained the website said it closed at 9pm and they said they havnt changed the time yet and we would have to leave , i said it will take us a couple of minutes to load the wood onto a trolly as i has somene commng to fit it in the morning and after all the webiste has said you were open till 9pm and that i removed everything from my kitchen and i had someone comming in the morning to fit the wood and it wasnt my fault if the times had not been changed and he said no it was 8pm and the store was closed at this point the sales assistant just stood looking confused , his attitude was uninterested and dismissive and i suggested that B&Q staff shouldnt be treating customers like this and he smugly replied ''i dont work for B&Q''! I at which point we asked to see the manager who didnt appear. on the way out we spoke to someone else who advised that it closed at 8pm and proceeded to bring his phone out and pull up the diy website showing it closed at 8pm ! so i took my phone out and typed in b&Q opening times coatbridge and it showed 9pm , he siad i dont know what webiste thatis and i said B&Q clearly unless google is mistaken he said the one he looked up was the official diy one ! as we were walking out the store with him walking behind us a couple were walking in and he said we are closed and they said on your webiste it says 9pm !(there you go ) I fully understand that staff are tired and want home on time but it is the attitude of this particular store no ''im really sorry you have been inconvenienced will take it up with management and make sure opening times are changed '' or ''sorry youve had a wasted journey'' total disinterest. it woud have taken approx 3 mns to get the wood to the checkout . On many occasions i have went to this store and tried to go through the trade part 10 minutes before closing and been refused because they have closed the tills or they look at you as if your causing them an inconvenience, the customer service skills are appalling .( In contrast can i say any time i have visited the store in parkhead my experience has been completely different they couldnt be more helpfull and friendly.)
